Meals Included, at Every Location

🍽 What your child is served

Meals are part of every program at every one of our Oak Harbor centers, and they are included in your weekly rate. When we added them, tuition did not change.

  An evening snack, for children staying past 5 PM

Meals meet USDA nutritional guidelines, and we participate in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

📚 School-age children work differently

Children who are at school for most of the day eat breakfast and lunch there, so our meal service fits around the school day rather than duplicating it.

  On school days, an afternoon snack after school, plus an evening snack if your child stays past 5 PM
• ✓
  On non-school days, the full day of meals: breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack, and an evening snack past 5 PM

Non-school days include summer, winter and spring break, teacher in-service days and snow days. On those days your school-age child is fed exactly like everyone else.

🍓 Allergies and dietary needs

We can accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions with advance notice. Tell us at enrollment, or whenever something changes.

  If your child has a food allergy, you will complete a Food Allergy Action Plan. Where emergency medication may be needed, it must be signed by your child’s physician.

  Let us know about dietary restrictions before your child’s first day so the kitchen can plan for them.
• ✓
  If an allergy or restriction changes, tell the Director rather than waiting for the next paperwork cycle.

🕐 Drop-in and weekend care

Meals and snacks are included for drop-in and weekend children staying through meal times, so you will not need to pack food for those days either. Bring the usual: diapers and wipes if applicable, a change of clothes, and any comfort items, all labelled with your child’s name.

  Do I still need to pack a lunch? No, for any program or any location.

  Which locations? All of them: Fort Nugent, View Ridge and Midway Blvd.

  What if my child is a fussy eater? Talk to us. We would rather know than have your child go hungry.
