Serving Military Families
Our proximity to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island shapes everything we do. We accept MCCYN and MCCYN-PLUS subsidies for active-duty military families and hold status as a Child Care Aware Military Provider. Read more about how we support Navy families on our Military Families page.
Local Media
We have been featured in Whidbey News-Times and Whidbey Weekly, and we work with local journalists covering early childhood education on Whidbey Island. For our full press coverage, visit our Press & News page.
Partnerships That Support Our Work
High-quality early learning depends on the people and organizations that support us across the region.
- NAEYC — the National Association for the Education of Young Children. We hold Recognition status through the NAEYC Early Learning Program Quality Assessment and Accreditation system.
- Washington State DCYF — Early Achievers Level 5 rating at our Fort Nugent location, Washington's highest quality tier for early learning programs.
- Skagit Valley College — career pathway for our teachers pursuing Early Childhood Education certificates.
- Lifetek — American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED certification for our staff.
How We Support Whidbey Island Families
Beyond full-time enrollment, we offer options for families whose schedules don't fit a standard workweek:
- Saturday care for weekend-shift workers
- Drop-in care for job seekers, hospitality workers, healthcare workers, and parents in training programs
- DSHS subsidy acceptance for eligible families
- MCCYN-PLUS for active-duty military families
